• Derby and Bridport

We planned to drive straight to Bridport but passed a sign pointing towards an ancient rainforest walk, which we stopped and did. It was amazing, I've never seen trees growing out of tree ferns before, it looked like it hadn't changed for thousands of years!
After spending some time here we headed on and drove into a town called Derby, which I'm ashamed to say I've never heard of as it's the mountain biking epicentre of Australia.. It was the pump track that we saw first, as Rosie's favourite thing is riding her bike on pump tracks at the moment. We grabbed some food in a nearby pizza place and I then read into the mtb trails and the bike hire options. Not long later I'd hired a bike and was riding some of the most beautiful trails of my life whilst Rosie shredded the pump track. Derby was originally a tin mining town and it was wierd seeing a lot of Cornish looking mining works so far from home. We then drove Bridport a lot later than planned but got here just in time to watch the sunset and cook some dinner 😋
