Got to Stanley around 2pm, so just enough time to go up 'The Nut'. An old volcano which had very steep sides and a grassy plateau at the top, where Shearwaters like to nest. We got the chairlift up so we could do the walk around the top. Beautiful views over Stanley which is out on a headland with estuaries on both sides. Saw a kookaburra and some pademelons at the top.
It was a very steep hill to get down and both the girls were tired and hungry by the end!
We did an early dinner so we could see the little penguins which nest right next to the campsite. We saw a few pairs of penguins, some hopping on the rocks and others running to their mate or quietly waiting. They're very cute!
