5.2 Cuba, Havanna - Santa Maria Beach

First day in Havanna and we went for the beach, which is a bus ride away out of the city.

Side fact: The tourist bus (same as in Europe) is 5 CUC (equals 5$) for both ways. The local bus is 5 CUP (equals 0.20$) for one way.

So in general: There are two currencies in Cuba. The “Cuban Peso (CUP)” and the “Cuban Convertible Peso (CUC)”.

25 CUP = 1 CUC*

*the CUC is coupled to the US$ to b almost 1:1.

Cubans and tourists can pay with both currencies. However, prices exist in both currencies and tourist usually bay th CUC price, wich is a lot more, of course.Baca selengkapnya
