Love this, ocean, warm, waves, beach volleyball, sunset, ... awesome!
I missed the beach and finally I found a spot where they play beach volleyball. Seems to be a rarity here, more Brazilian than Colombian or Ecuadorean thing to do.
And th pacific is so warm here!
Rented a bike and went the 20ish km to the “final” waterfall. Well, final is not final final, but the main one on the rout. Way back only uphill and raining so we took a truck back.
And tunnels are basically just holes in the mountains. Wonder what Swiss engineers would say to that.Read more
At this nice location you can have a very nice swing into the valley or canyon of the mountain, and if the weather would have been good there would have been better pictures. But it was still worth it, especially the hike up, although my companion -coming from sea level and having a cold- was very slow, sorry Tina!Read more
A very nice hike but freezing cold at night. Luckily the weather was perfect and I just used the right moment with less wind.
I really needed to go slow on the last bit, as it was already exhausting at that altitude, but then I also needed to climb!
But all the suffering was worth it, as the feeling up there was incredible. I tried a bit with the drone, but the wind was too strong.
Slept 11h straight after this hike.Read more
My one and only activity in Quito: Hiking to Ruco Pichincha, a peak at roughly 4700m above zero. At this altitude, the air really gents noticeably thinner.
Starting in Quito at cerca 3500m, taking the cable car to 4050m and then hiking/climbing to 4700m.Read more
Looking for a overpriced, distant tourist trap in th jungle? Here you go, Mindo is your town in the middle of the cloud forest. And maaaan, does it deserve this name. Was still worth it and I met som nice people there. But 112g of chocolate for 7$? It isn’t even the same quality as Swiss or Belgium chocolate! On the other hand, that brownie with vanilla ginger ice cream was from another world, especially the ice cream!Read more
What really shouldn’t be underestimated is the sun at 3500m altitude. It was too strong, so I didn’t do the whole round trip on the rim, which is also 14 km long ... not a joke. But it was also super nice.Read more
Tolle Überraschung! 👍🥇👍
Greatest ‘present’ ever!!!
