Old Jewish Grave Yard

The oldest surviving synagogue is in Curacao, with a Jewish presence dating back to the mid 1600’s. This graveyard has tombs dating from those times. Unfortunately, pollution effects on the markers had made most unreadable, but I saw several with a hand holding an axe which had cut down a tree, which supposedly signifies an early or untimely death.,Leia mais
