Australia Bound

I arrived at 1am in Doha, caught up on messages on my phone for an hour or so then went to bed around 2:30am and woke at about 11am, a pretty decent sleep when the room was the size for a cupboard. I checked out as late as possible and hung around the airport for quite a while. I killed a couple hours at a café, then another couple at hungry Jack's. I then slowly wandered to the gate and sat around until it was finally time to board. I could have spent my time exploring Doha, but so close to the end of my trip, and so short on cash, I opted to just take it easy and waste time in an airport. Now, the real fun part, 13 hours sitting down on a plane. I was sat next to a nice British couple for the flight. I later found out were both doctors as a medical emergency broke out on board and they had to spend the whole trip periodically assessing a poor sick patient locked up in the bathroom. Made me feel a bit guilty of convincing them to have a couple servings of wines a bit worse, but they kept me up having to access the aisle all night so we can call it even. Not that I sleep well on flights anyways. They were super nice anyways.Read more
