    Kafue boasts a distinction that we'll appreciate on our game-viewing drives: in addition to an impressive 55 mammal species, it is home to 500 species of birds—as many in this park as in all of Europe.

    It’s impossible to exhaust the discoveries at Kafue, one of the continent’s largest national parks—at 8,600 square miles, it is roughly the size of the entire state of New Jersey. Kafue’s habitats span riverine forests, floodplains, woodlands, and dambos (open grasslands).
