Local Blacksmith

Today, we'll drive through the picturesque rural villages along the southern slopes of Mount Agung. Our first stop on our journey is to the home of a Balinese blacksmith. We'll take a tour of the blacksmith's workshop and learn about the metalworks he produces, such as keris, or ceremonial daggers. We'll enjoy a Q&A session with the blacksmith about the craftsmanship that goes into the blades he makes, and why they are an important part of Balinese rituals. As we'll learn, the tradition of keris making is now a dying art on the island of Bali, making our visit to this blacksmith's workshop all the more special.Leia mais
