    Ngarua Caves Takaka Hill

    August 13 in New Zealand ⋅ ☀️ 9 °C

Well WOW! The best $30 each we've spent in ages.
We're both a bit rattled by being underground but we'd heard great things about these caves so took the plunge and down we went with Janet, our guide.
What a truly fantastic place. The images speak for themselves. My knees were a tad unsure a couple of times and my head was definitely unsure when I saw our exit method but so worth it. These ancient cave systems are remarkable. The Muldoon and Rodin 'sculptures' have been formed by water alone. Incredible!
Musicians love the acoustic qualities and brides love the atmosphere of the cathedral so there are special occasions held there. Very special!
