Gili T - Snorkelling

Our first full day in Gili T, we decided to walk along the beach to a far away point and go snorkelling to see the turtles.

Unfortunately, it was a more stressful experience than relaxing, like we'd have hoped. The sea was rough, the ground was stoney and we struggled to get out into the sea, which is always made more difficult with fins on (and even more difficult when the fins are too small!) We did spot a turtle but decided to give in as we weren't enjoying it.

In the evening, we went and watched a stunning sunset, which was similar to Darwin, in the way it was forked into the sky. We also spotted Venus which was a big, bright star. We felt really content watching the sunset with our bintangs and the fire on the beach.Read more
