  • Almost missed my flight from JFK! 😳

    May 11, 2023 in France ⋅ ⛅ 16 °C

Last person on the flight to Paris running like Usain 🤦🏾 but I made it. Got to Paris and immediately got profiled and rustled up by a beautiful well dressed Frenchman who charged me 3X the normal fare from the airport to the city. This is what happens when you don't know the language. 😂 Turned out to be a lovely man who didn't turn out to be an ax murderer and dropped me right tp Bevys door- but I still paid $90 for a $35 trip! • Made it!

In Paris walking the streets. Tried to eat some steak frites. It was not good but I felt good and I looked good, so that was awesome !

  • Champagne!!

    May 13, 2023 in France ⋅ ☀️ 17 °C

I don't love champagne 🍾 but I love Champagne - lovely city, Took the train from Paris to Champagne- sweet vibe, lots of champagne flowing - did some shopping then went to the most amazing and cozy place for champagne tasting and great conversation with Bevy & Stefanie. Pierre our server was a wealth of knowledge- schooled us on 9 glasses of champagne- plied us with french cheese and fantastique decor. Truly memorable 💃🏼💃🏼💃🏼🍾🍾🍾 Headed over to the Pommery winery - AMAZING! The art was out of control and simply stunning and clever. So much alcohol -- so little time! Serene and sleepy ride back to Paris. It was a lovely day of surprises and jokes 😂😂Read more

  • Exploring the Paris Flea and Momatre

    May 14, 2023 in France

Paris flea market is some craziness with people in your face selling every kind of French goods which were really made in China 🙄. One guy asked if I wanted to smell some perfume, I said no and he sprayed me anyway. Ugh. However the Antique Market next door was great and I almost bought a snail that's a basket and a gorgeous blue circle mirror. Then we trekked to the beautiful Momatre Art District - it's lovely but has waaayyy too many steps - I had to use some serious breathing exercises to lower my heart rate (thanks Lina). Ran into an amazing communal experience overlooking Paris with hundreds of people singing along to universal songs like Bob Marley's No Woman No Cry. Ironically the magic of the scene made me cry 😢Read more

  • Le Eiffel

    May 15, 2023 in France

Today was a bit lazy - I learned what it's like to work on U.S. business on France time. Of course I have an event 5 minutes after I return to Miami, so an urgent meeting was inevitable. Couldn't leave the house until 6pm to see the Eiffel. Got out of Uber to pouring rain - ducked into a cafe for a gelato to wait out the rain. Then the Eiffel and it's park is gated off. 😳 It was not such a fun day but hey - I'm still in France on vacation - so I remain grateful 🙏🏾Read more

  • Almost missed another flight - to NICE!

    May 16, 2023 in France ⋅ ⛅ 21 °C

Coffee and serious convo in Paris then a mean 2 star Uber dude 😒 who dropped us to the wrong terminal then refused to take us to the correct terminal then R U S H RUN RUSH RUN to our flight - in between bags too heavy and rookie move at security - lost all my Fenty liquids 🤦🏾 (sorry Rhianna) 💃🏼💃🏼✈️ then NICE!! 😁 Gorgeous Airbnb overlooking the mountains and the Mediterranean..Then late night dancing dancing dancing - and got Mommed in the club by a 16 year old "look at those old ladies" 👀🤣🤣Read more

  • # I love Nice!

    May 17, 2023 in France ⋅ ☁️ 20 °C

Today we explored a rainy, beautiful Nice. Rented a super cute Audi to zip around town -- after I had an unexpected and stressful meeting. Ugh.😒 Then off to eat and shop. Cute lunch with a menu I couldn't read, then exploring a WOW Mall-- all new stuff to buy. French Zara almost killed me! Everything is beautiful and cheaper than US Zara 😳 but I got out with just $100 purchase. Walked the promenade by the water then off to the boardwalk on the Mediterranean with it's sweeping vistas - and the ultimate Instagramable Nice moment - the I LOVE NICE sign which I squeezed myself into. Why Sue? 🤦🏾 Then off to the most scrumptious dinner of a perfect Caesar salad and too much delicious lasagna (is that even possible?). Today was a good day 👌🏾 Fun fact - French people love the word SUPER 💥Read more

  • The market was fascinating 🍓🍉🍇🍅

    May 18, 2023 in France ⋅ ☁️ 20 °C

Went to the market for a few things. It was an immersive experience - WOW red tomatoes, yellow tomatoes, radishes, purple artichokes,, cherries, watermelon, so so much beautiful and super fresh produce and $5 wine - because we're in France where they make it like water. It was such a pleasure- like Publix 😂Read more

  • Vie en Rose in Grasse

    May 18, 2023 in France ⋅ ☁️ 18 °C

Everything's coming up roses! Drove about 30 minutes to a cute little town called Grasse, only to find a sky of pink umbrellas -- and discovered a rose festival! So excited! The entire place was covered in roses , sweet cobbled streets with cute shops including a Black lady from Cameroon with soap grapes who told us her landlord was sure she was going to fail because she's Black 😒 GTFOH - so we bought as much as we could afford to prove that mofo wrong. Back to the roses 🌹 every kind of rose imaginable -- and some peonies for good measure! It was STUNNING, sweet, unexpected and wonderful! Bevy and I agreed pink is the best color ever! Then I had to duck into a shitty hostel to take 2 meetings for 2 upcoming events, ugh 😭 but still a first world problem 👏🏾👏🏾 another fabulous French day!Read more

  • A Beautiful Oasis

    May 20, 2023 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 27 °C

My last day in France 🇲🇫 we took a beautiful drive go to the most interesting restaurant - an inside forest with stunning all natural foliage and decor. The grapes are real. All the plants are real - even the tomatoes hanging from the ceiling are real. I know cuz I popped 2 of them in my mouth! 🍅🍅 (Bevy - "sue, you just ate a dusty tomato that you weren't supposed to eat"). 😳😂 Then on the other side of the restaurant are two seasoned musician playing loud standards for the patrons. It was kinda crazy. Food was delish.Read more
