Day 5- Field trip by Boat

Amazon River is the largest river by water volume on earth, and despite several thousands of miles long, there are no bridges spanning the river! People travel by boat.🛶
Because of the moisture and high humidity, things are always wet! We never get a break from our sweat.😅 Most especially when we're out in the field collecting data. In the past few days, I've been sweaty and dirty , and i forgot how it feels to be clean and to smell good! Well, at least I'm not alone. 😄
Because we're surrounded by water, it's no surprise to take the boat ride for our exciting field trip outside of the field station. We went to visit a shaman!
It was nothing new to me personally. I grew up exposed to similar practices of curing sickness. Yet, it always amazes me to know what the plants can cure. We got the pleasure to be treated with some rituals, massage, and tattoos!! He gave me something like a compass direction tattoo. It's something given to women so they won't get lost when going out in the forest.
As usual, we did our round table. This time on 'frogs'.🐸
Finally, the day wrapped up with another boat trip to simply explore nature at night. In the stillness and quietness of the night, we saw a few animals who looked exhausted from a long day's work.
With that, we navigated back to the station. Just like those animals, i was ready to retire and recharge!
