Lazed by the pool before catching the plane to Paris. Went for a midnight street walk and drinks.

Getting the van - REO 2 - out of Paris was interesting. Ended up spending first day in Versailles and parking there overnight. We took the train into Paris as we had a booking for the Eiffel TowerWeiterlesen

From Versailles to Pontois we had a truly wonderful day. Walking the “champs” was wonderful. Parking the van and training it into Paris was the best call.
Day 6: The Louvre.

Decided to spend tomorrow’s ANZAC day at the Menin gates in Ypres. Visited the war cemetaries today. Teared up reading “they are not lost, they are here”.

Belgium beers. Haven’t met one I don’t like. Very moving ceremony by the Menin gates tonight. Happens EVERY night of the year. 5-6 bugles at a time.

Great decision to spend ANZAC day in this wonderful place. Met so many wonderful people. It’s great when people wanna chat and you know in a different universe you’d be mates.

Day 13: Hamme to Rotterdam

Our longest drive. Not sure what was scarier, the freeways or the tiny country roads. Night walk in Rotterdam was awesome.

After a big “Kings” day we moved on to Utrecht. We travelled through some lovely countryside but found it hard to find somewhere to stop. Grah is the king of this though so we ended up at a parkWeiterlesen
