Hiking Aconcagua

With 6.962m, the Aconcagua is the highest mountain outside of Asia.
Together with Patty, the Venezuelan girl from the hostel, we took a bus to Horcones and started our hike around 3.000m. Already the bus ride was very scenic! Our hike led us through landscapes of different rock formations, colorful surrounding peaks, lagunes and of course offered the view on the snowy peak of Aconcagua. We hiked until the first base camp, Confluencia, at 3.400m. All in all, we hiked 16km and arrived tired at our bus. Once back in Mendoza, we rewarded ourselves with some nice Argentinian food (in my case: 'Matambre a la pizza' which is Steak with tomato sauce and cheese on top) :)Les mer
