Our Abode in Caen

Our room is on the second floor of This Old House. The stairway seems about two hundred years old. We meet the hostess and her dog, a golden retriever. Breakfast both days is dark coffee/fruit/several wonderful choices of bread or croissants from the boulangerie in the neighborhood. This is a small town of only 100,000 residents which was bombed by the allies in the assault after D-Day as the US, British and Canadian soldiers pushed the Germans to the East.
