Marksburg Castle

We visited Marksburg Castle, and Glenda was given the key with which to unlock the door. The castle's foundations go back to the year 1100. The view of the Rhine from the top of the mountain is fantastic. Down in the basement there is an exhibit that shows some of the instruments of torture and imprisonment from the Middle Ages. However, our guide told us that there was never a prison at Marksburg. I was especially interested in the dining hall, and in the fact that there is a sit-down toilet.
