    August 8 in Sweden ⋅ ☁️ 20 °C

It was the best morning to wake up to today, clear blue sky and the water was flat, no breeze at all. It was so nice we sat outside to eat our breakfast while we waited for the twins to wake up. It was very peaceful and a perfect way to start the day. We needed to make a start on our long journey south and so that was the plan, we had a campsite booked so we knew where we were going to and it didn’t take us too long to get organised and get moving. The only thing we needed to do first was to pick up some fridge magnets and so we headed back to the place we had been a few days ago overlooking the bridge. Sweden is not really a place that does tourist tat and so it is not always easy to add to our collection. But we managed to take care of it and get what we needed and then we were on the road.
Our drive was pretty boring really, Jess was using the time to get some work done so Allegra had a spell in the front. We stopped to pick up some bread and then we needed to find a spot to have some lunch. After a while of passing a few possible spots I eventually got too hungry and just pulled over. It seemed reasonable and like there was a path down to the water but when we followed it, it led to someone’s house so we just walked back a bit and sat on the path to have our picnic.
After lunch Jess took over the driving with just a couple of hours to go and it was through real wilderness, just endless pine trees. We got to our next campsite and it could not have been more opposite to where we stayed last night. Instead of 4 pitches it was more like 5 or 6 hundred with people everywhere, not my cup of tea at all. But at least we got a spot away from all the crowds, next to the water. We had loads of fun stuff to do, like get all of our washing done and do the dishes, showers for the twins etc, so it was excitement for all of us. We went for a bit of a walk around the site, it takes 10 minutes to get to reception, and there is certainly loads of things to do here, how many of them we’ll do I’m not sure.
After getting everything done the time was getting along and we couldn’t be bothered to cook so the only choice was another 10 minute walk to the bistro and enjoy the delights on offer there. At dinner we realised that we hadn’t watched the final Heartstopper movie and so we decided we would all squeeze very uncomfortably onto the bed and watch it so that is what we did. All in all it was a fairly uneventful day.
