Turn around bright eyes

We awoke this morning to the sound of the wind flapping our awning which made Jess worry about something flying away so she decided to put it down. I was much less bothered and therefore not keen on getting up to sort it out. ‘Don’t worry, you won’t need to do anything’ she assured me as I rolled over. Maybe 2 minutes later the door opened again, You’re going to need to help me’ I was told. To say I was a little grumpy is probably an accurate description. After sorting it out I was completely awake so decided to do some work, Jess made a half-hearted effort but quickly gave up and fell back to sleep.
We decided we didn’t want to stay at the site we were out, it just didn’t have the right feel for us, then realised we had 20 minutes until check out and the twins weren’t awake yet. I leisurely finished my coffee then went to pay, by the time I came back they were just starting the van up, they had got sorted in record time. So we headed off in the direction of the site we had tried yesterday. On the way, we saw a sign for a small group of shops, one of which was a cafe so Jess did a screeching hand brake stop and we pulled in. Checking it online, the cafe looked like it did a good job so we felt certain we would end up there. We checked out the other shops first , the first was an odd mix of candles, soap, wallpaper and paint, very strange. The second was a garden shop with a nice selection, Jess decided to buy two small plants that we have now put in the drink holders in the front of the van and have named Tvillingar, because they are not identical. Then, in a display of resistance, we decided it was close to lunchtime so we didn’t need to have some cake. We will talk about it always.
We got to the campsite to check in, Jess had booked online to be sure we had a space, but when we got there we learned that they have some pitches only for drop in and once these are booked they put up the ‘full’ sign. But they have others that can be booked online and based on today we feel very certain that some of these were available yesterday, so we were very confused that they declined to mention this. They were lucky we came back to be honest, we normally just keep moving forward and don’t retrace our steps. But we managed to get in today and have a cool spot overlooking the sea. We enjoyed our lunch very lazily in the sunshine and were feeling very chilled out. It is something we don’t actually do that much as we are always either doing some activity or on the move so it was quite nice to just relax, we didn’t even put the stuff away as we were all so comfortable. Then I was looking through the campsite website for things to do in the area and they mentioned a farm cafe that was only 4kms away. As we were all feeling quite guilty about not supporting the local cafes after our decision earlier it was a real no-brainer. So we dragged ourselves up and got lunch leftovers put away and we were off. It was a very enjoyable stroll through changing scenery, as it always seems to be. We got to the cafe and it was a very nice setting with a very wide selection of cakes, too many for us to try one of each so we had to settle for one each, with some nice cups of tea to wash them down. While enjoying our food we saw a couple of little twins, maybe just over a year or so old and they were full of beans and always moving and Jess and I laughed with happy memories as we saw their parents trying to keep up and both yawning at the same time. There was also a nice farm shop there with a good selection of stuff and we picked up a few things. Unusually, they did not take cards st this place, and we did not have cash, and so their solution for this is that they give out invoices and you pay by bank transfer. They were very happy to give us the invoice and there was no expectation that we pay it immediately, they just assume that people are honest and will pay up. Another example of a trusting Swedish community, we continue to be impressed.
We walked back to our site and it was slightly chilly so we just lazed about some more, well Jess and I did while the twins showered and did the dishes. Another quality meal was prepared, no one opens tins quite like I do. There was also the eclipse happening this evening but as it was only about 80% here in Sweden and it was quite cloudy, I don’t know what to say, it wasn’t really dark, the total eclipse didn’t start.
