You can't stop the plane from taking off

    November 5 in Canada ⋅ ☁️ 6 °C

When we started our journey, the thought of going to somewhere I never was before frightened the heck out of me. But now that it's over I'm scared to go back to my normal life. Germany feels so small already.
The beautiful wildlife, endless roads, the open Sea, massive Mountains, gourgeous nature that made us feel tiny in the beginning became a part of us and let us grow. I'll miss every single second of it.
I will even miss the hard times we have gone through.
After 9 months creating remarkable memories, making new friends and exploring big C the end came way to fast. Even though it was planned in advance, the day of leaving came unexpected and broke my heart a little bit.

Thanks Canada for incredible 9 months. How fortunate we are having so many things that make saying goodby that hard!

    The first and last espresso

    November 4 in Canada ⋅ ⛅ 11 °C

For our last night in Canada we thought we would pretend to be wealthy and let others serve beer, wine and some good food. The Italian restaurant was nestled in between the towering buildings, and Toronto showed us it's sparkling lights again.

  • Day284

    Nathan Phillips Square

    November 4 in Canada ⋅ ⛅ 11 °C

Right in front of the town hall is the Nathan Phillips Square. On it you can find Archways that where constructed to remind us of the horrors of world war 2. Underneath is a running track. The tourist seam to be more interested in the flashy, colour changing "Toronto" sign...

    Allan Gardens

    November 4 in Canada ⋅ ⛅ 11 °C

Visiting the "queen of the night" has never been easier. The Allan botanical gardens feature plenty of interesting plants. From arid or tropical regions, they have some beautiful specimens. Oh and turtles!

  • Day284

    A walk through Old Toronto

    November 4 in Canada ⋅ ☀️ 10 °C

There is something special about walking between old brick buildings and skyscrapers. Luckily for us, the streets are a grid, so we didn't get lost. Unlike Germany where we get lost on our own hometown...
Impressive where the murals scattered around the city, some of them the size of a whole 15 story building!Read more

    Niagara on the Lake

    November 3 in Canada ⋅ ☁️ 5 °C

You know, when you visit a fort in Europe, you think of stone walls and a bastion. Here it was was just a powder magazine and earth mounds arranged in a star pattern. It worked though...

  • Day283

    Niagara Falls

    November 3 in Canada ⋅ ⛅ 5 °C

The world famous falls... one of the natural wonders. Impressive on its own, one has to remember that only about 30% of the water flows over the falls, the rest is used for power generation by the US and Canada.
Goat island is between the horseshoe falls and the American falls. It was named after, you guessed it a goat. Farmers used to graze their animals on the island since there was no need for fences.Read more

    Skylon Tower

    November 3 in Canada ⋅ ⛅ 5 °C

You want a place with an amazing view? Skyline it is. And probably the only tower that is reasonably priced!
From up top you have a grand 360° view, and at every window there is a description of what you can see out of that window. Heaven for Thilo!
Now we went there in autumn, this does mean that there are only five other people there, but man it was cold! Bring a jacket.Read more

  • Day281

    Downtown Toronto

    November 1 in Canada ⋅ ☁️ 4 °C

We enjoyed the city, even though we loved the forests of Canada. I think it has a lot to do with the openness and cleanliness of Toronto. Everything is easily reached on foot (although pedestrian crossings have hideously long wait times).
But be prepared to shell out some cash, if you want to go to the top of CN Tower or see the Aquarium of Canada, 40$ per person is the average. And parking is expensive to.Read more

    Roundhousepark

    November 1 in Canada ⋅ ☁️ 5 °C

Trains! Tracks! Coal Tower! Sound boring? We promise, it isn't. Having some really cool old steam locomotives and authentic train garage(?)/roundhouse pretty much dead centre of downtown Toronto is awesome.the CN tower looms in the background and you are surrounded by skyscrapers, but are in a wide open place. Very different to Vancouver...Read more
