Lots of bones! Watch a skilled anthropologist clean a dinosour bone right in front of you! Stick your head in a t-rex skull! Read lots of signs and drown people in facts!
The staff of the Tyrell museum do a amazing job at conserving and displaying this part of earth history, it's not just a dusty museum, it's an adventure through time.Read more

  • Showtime! CS Evening show

    July 8, 2019 in Canada ⋅ ⛅ 15 °C

In the grandstand overlooking the racetrack the evening starts with a nailbiting chuckwaggon race. We have never seen a horse drawn carriage move so fast and even drift around corners!
After the race they drag a whole stage onto the racetrack for an amazing show with dancers, acrobats and fireworks! We absolutely recommend to see it!Read more

  • Our first rodeo!

    July 9, 2019 in Canada ⋅ ⛅ 18 °C

Somebody told us you should never say that it is our first rodeo, but oh well...
Bull riding, bucking horses, clowns, pony catching, lassos and other breakneck cowboy abilities are shown off here. Can you catch a calf with a lasso from horseback, jump off, have your horse keep the rope under tension and then tie up the calves feet within 7 seconds? It took you longer to read this sentence!Read more

  • From Butterflies to lions!

    July 10, 2019 in Canada ⋅ ⛅ 18 °C

The Calgary zoo does a really good job a making the animals feel quite at home, and they have quite the diversity. We got up close to tigers, lions, cougars and wolves. Somebody might notice they are all from different continents. The lions probably don't like the snow though....Read more

  • Road to Bella Coola

    July 24, 2019 in Canada ⋅ ☀️ 18 °C

Impressive views await, oh and don't forget the chewing gum. On the mountain pass you will drive down about 700 meters! You can feel the air pressure difference in your ears! Also no barriers, so instead of looking out the window, look at the road. Or those 700m will be over quite quickly.Read more

  • Bella Coola

    July 24, 2019 in Canada ⋅ ⛅ 20 °C

Norwegians settled here first and had to carve a road inland with just one(!) Bulldozer and lots of dynamite.
Bella Coola sits at the edge of the Pacific and a coastal rain forest, everything is lush green and overwhelmingly beautiful.Read more

But no one can say no to Dave's ribs...

  • Secret Waterfall

    August 9, 2019 in Canada ⋅ ☀️ 18 °C

Well some miners found it before us I guess. They build the miners cabin here and bears use it as a scratch post... nature at its finest. Like most creeks, the waterfall is feed by glacial lakes.

  • Water like a mirror

    August 9, 2019 in Canada ⋅ ⛅ 24 °C

I wonder who missed the chance to name this lake "mirror lake" at least once a week the lake is so calm that virtually not a single ripple is visible.

  • Tsuniah Lake

    August 14, 2019 in Canada ⋅ ⛅ 17 °C

We had 4 days off so we decided for some fishing/canoeing/camping over a tsuniah lake. It just over the mountain but it takes almost 2 hours to drive there! It is worth it though, we cought over 20 fish in 12 hours of fishing and had many more bites! BC only allows a single garbled hook, so many got away. (Or I'm just bad...)Read more

Oh and you don't want to fall through the rotting decks.... so replace the planks before they rott!

  • Chilko Taseco Junction

    August 28, 2019 in Canada ⋅ ⛅ 20 °C

Blue is Gesines new favourite colour... can you blame her? The Taseko river is much whiter since the glacial lakes it feeds from are much more shallow, allowing the water to drag more glacier dust with it. The mixing of the two rivers is mesmerizing to watch!Read more
