  • Soaking in Liard Hotsprings

    1. juni 2019, Canada ⋅ ☁️ 16 °C

These are natural hot spring pools, they are amazing! The water is clear, the pools are kept natural and nature is sprawling here.
The challenge is to get a rock from the cool end of the pool and place it on the wall right next to where the hot water springs out of the rock! We made it!Les mer

  • Chainsaw Carving Competition

    9. juni 2019, Canada ⋅ ⛅ 17 °C

The 15th International chainsaw carving competition took place over the last few days in chetwin. Each year on the second weekend of June this event takes place. The 12 competitors, 4 American, 4 Canadian, 1 Australian, 1 Japanese, 1 Lithuanian, 1 Dutch had 36 hours to carve a design out of western cedar. Each got a tree trunk 120cm in diameter and 2,5m tall.
After they finished their main carvings they had a quick carve with a smaller trunk, these carvings where auction off to the public. Some fetched almost 3000$ !!!
The main carvings will be on display all over Chetwynd. There are more than 200 carvings scattered all around!

  • Kinoseo Falls

    15. juni 2019, Canada ⋅ ⛅ 20 °C

These falls are 70 meters high! They are probably the main attraction in the Tumbler Ridge Geopark. It's amazing. There is a beautiful 3km hike to view it from all possible angles.
You better hurry to see it, in about 10.000 years the water will have washed the falls to mere rapids!Les mer

  • Time to say goodbye

    28. juni 2019, Canada ⋅ ⛅ 17 °C

We had a fantastic time at Kristin's and Lee's place. Your property is beautiful like heaven on earth. I never have lived so close to bears, coyotes and dears. I really liked to be woken up by singing birds and listen to the sound of croaking frogs while drifting into dreams. We really like you guys and our fingers are crossed that your plans for the future will come true. 🤞🏻Les mer

  • Canada Day

    1. juli 2019, Canada ⋅ 🌧 7 °C

We enjoyed the Canada day parade in jasper. It's like karneval in Germany!
After the parade we wanted to go to the party in the park, but it cancelled! It rained so hard nobody showed up...
We where the only ones to go there, so we got burger and ice cream for free!!!Les mer

  • Uninterested wildlife

    2. juli 2019, Canada ⋅ ⛅ 17 °C

Who us the boss of the road? Who has always right of way? Who is the most photographed thing in the Rockies?
Its no human, no bike, no mountain.
We were standing in line for 30 min waiting to drive again. We thought there was an accident or a construction site. But no.
It was the canadian wildlife standing in the middle of the road, because it's so nice to be in the spotlight.

  • This is Fred

    2. juli 2019, Canada ⋅ ⛅ 14 °C

Fred is our very kind and calm neighbour, most of the time. Today we hang our clothes line to dry our bikinis and towels. Fred was not amused. He was screaming at us and we didn't understand. Finally we found the mistake. Our line was right in front of his tree hole. He tried to untie the knot but he failed and was complaining louder and louder.
Stubborn as we are, we didn't moved the line. He got used to it an calmed down again.

  • Finally Lake Louise

    3. juli 2019, Canada ⋅ ⛅ 13 °C

3 months ago we already had seen the town Lake Louise. The town was covered in snow and snowing never stopped. We stayed in the Deer Lodge and had no idea how close the lake itself was. This time it's raining but for the first time we really could see the beautiful Lake with our own eyes.Les mer

  • Calgary Bass Pro Shop

    5. juli 2019, Canada ⋅ ☁️ 11 °C

Welcome Hunters, Fishers and other liars!
If you need it, they have it. And some delicious fudge to. It's more of a amusement park and trophy collection where you can also buy your cowboy hats and wading boots!Les mer

  • Drumheller Badlands interpretive trail

    7. juli 2019, Canada ⋅ ⛅ 19 °C

It's called Badlands because a lot of bad people remove all the fossils... not really, but tourist destroyed a lot of heritage.
The name Badlands dates back to aboriginals, the land is bad for grass or animals. It more desert and clay then anything else. Up to 4 cm or soil is washed away every year, revealing new fossils. A couple of millions of years ago this was first a sea, then a river, then a swamp and finally a glacier. Lots if dino preserving factors.Les mer
