Day 18 - Bastimentos

Early am wake up, homework in the hammock and cycle into town for lesson. Quick juice stop before getting the boat to Isla Bastimentos - 40 min trip through mangroves and past Isla Solarte, with ecolodge worker Ishmail. Greeted on the island by sunshine! And the owner Michel. This place is total paradise!! Open air huts right on the beach, with the sea so calm it's like a natural swimming pool (there's reefs super close by that keeps this bit always calm) afternoon of reading, swimming, walked through a bit of jungle to the beach on the other side - and mainly just looking around in slight disbelief!
