  • Pedasi, Panama

    February 11, 2023 in Panama ⋅ 28 °C

Our Casa (Airb&b) for 4 weeks in a little town called Pedasi in the Los Santos region approx. 300 km south of Panama city.
It comes with a pool and a few domesticated residents on the 5 acre property, including 2 horses, 2 dogs, 2 cats, 6 chickens (fresh eggs everyday) and 1 pig named Izzy...Read more

  • Playa Los Destiladeros

    February 13, 2023 in Panama

Had a lovely 3K walk on Destiladeros Beach on Monday. The surf was wild, the sound was fresh, and the water was warm. The undertow was definitely a force to be reconded with. No swimming at this beach for sure!Read more

  • BEACH GLASS CLASS FROM SUE MAKINEN

    February 16, 2023 in Panama

Had a lovely beachglass earing making class today from Sue Makinen at the Hummingbird Inn. Met lots of new friends, got creative, a little wine and voila! Earings, a little silver ring, and a set for my daughter Kaylee. Gotta luv that...😍Read more

  • Playa Rincon

    February 16, 2023 in Panama

Had a relaxing walk and swim at Playa Rincon, which you have to drive through the little town of Meribe to reach. Saw a few sanddollars, but as their name indicates, they were pretty brittle and fell apart when you held them. Some very neat markings and patterns in the sand as well. Enjoyed watching a horse have his bath and swim, and then we were adopted by a local dog who made a bee line to John. All in a days visit to a local beach at the end of a day in Panama.Read more

  • Trip to Playa de Venao

    February 19, 2023 in Panama

Drove 1/2 hr to possibly one of the largest and sandy beaches we have ever been on. The water was a tad cool but absolutely refreshing on a hot day. We walked the length of the beach and ended up at a surfers restaurant and hotel right on the beach. Had some ice-cold beers and a pina colada of course, for the non-beer drinker....MOI!Read more

  • Mini 3 Day Trip to Boquete

Drove 5 hrs yesterday to travel to a mountain resort area called Boquete. Booked an AirB&B called Casa Tropical. Her gardens, flowers, and 2bdr., 2 baths are lovely.
The mountains, the flowers, rock formations, waterfalls, and horseback riding were just a few of the sites during today's outings.Read more

  • Caldera Hotsprings

    February 24, 2023 in Panama ⋅ ⛅ 26 °C

Before heading back to Pedasi, a rainbow was our goodbye gift. So, on our way back to Pedasi, we thought we were brilliant to drive ourselves to the Caldera Hot Springs, enter for $3.00 each, and then keep heading home., instead of taking a 4 hr. tour for $35.00 each and wasting time. WEEEELLLL. Were we wrong. These 2 road pics are the nice parts... even with a tree in the middle of the road...haha. Too much in shock, during the rough sections, to take a pic... but the hot springs were well worth it and scenery getting there and driving back was beautiful.Read more

  • PLAYA DE RINCON

    February 26, 2023 in Panama ⋅ ☁️ 32 °C

Had a great 3km walk on this beach again. This visit was the discovery of what makes those little balls of sand appear... well we thought we were in a Harry Potter movie. You remember, the one with the spiders? Well now, think tiny crabs... it was like the beach was moving with thousands of them running away from us....and now you have the whole story.... 😁Read more

  • Road Trip to Playa Venao Via Las Tablas

    March 1, 2023 in Panama ⋅ ⛅ 27 °C

Took a drive through the mountains today to get to Venao Beach by way of Las Tablas. Gorgeous scenery, as you can see. Finally, I got an up close pic of the cotton plant/tree that grows wild here. And John had some time to do a little body surfing...Read more

  • Puerto Escondido

    March 3, 2023 in Panama ⋅ ⛅ 31 °C

One of two of the roughest roads we have ridden yet and yet the houses are definitely the biggest and most elaborate we have seen in Panama. Definitely, a 4 wheel drive and/or SUV'S are the order of the day, not our little Nissan March.... 🤪 But this was one of the only beaches we have visited so far that had lots of shore trees for shade. So, a little snooze, a little reading, a little lunch, a little shell hunting, a little splash in the water, and away we go! Lovely day....Read more

  • Flora of Panama

    March 4, 2023 in Canada ⋅ ⛅ -8 °C

Here is a "one-stop shop" of the beauty of the flowers and vegetation we encountered in Panama, if you wish to peruse! These were all found on the property of our Air B&B. What a treasure!

  • The Creatures Of Panama

    March 4, 2023 in Canada ⋅ ⛅ -8 °C

Thought it would be fun to show you the animals, birds, and insects we encountered during our 5 weeks in Panama! 😅 Is that a manatee in the pool? Whoops, just John, where he does his best "thinking"! 🤣 No manatees in Panama.... hope you enjoyed our travels to Panama! We are home now, so, here endth my story!Read more
