  • Day 1 Beautiful Walk

    12. maj, England ⋅ ⛅ 11 °C

Day 1 .Walking from Abbotsbury to Weymouth, approx 14 miles
Had coffee at Moonfleet Hotel halfway.
And a Mr Whippy in Weymouth ,simple pleasures,a beautiful sunny day 😎

  • Day 2 Weymouth to Lulworth Cove

    13. maj, England ⋅ 🌬 11 °C

Left Weymouth walking through woods with a tropical feel as we climbed up onto cliff tops and down onto beaches, spectacular outstanding beauty . Expected rain but had more sunshine than anything.
We did really well and we're up for the challenge. Definitely the hardest walk yet .We met groups of millatery on training exercise ,walking the opossite way ,so clearly a hard route .
Staying in Lulworth Cove tonight .

  • Day 3 Lulworth Cove to Kimmeridge Bay

    14. maj, England ⋅ ⛅ 11 °C

A beautiful walk full of variety . We couldn't walk along the coast as the path was closed to public as the firing range was open . We had wonderful views , walked through woodland, glades and a few roads. Encountered a hail storm at one point .
So an alternative route that was suggested turned out to be 16miles not 13. We got a taxi for the final 3 !!!

  • Day 4 Worth Matravers to Kimmeridge

    15. maj, England ⋅ ☁️ 6 °C

Just to trick everyone and to confuse ourselves we walked back to Kimmeridge. We couldn't get a lift to Kimmeridge this morning so walked to it and got a taxi back .
We walked 12.5 miles again ...clearly we haven't had enough hills up to this point. But the views in this area have been so spectacular, this walk had been more challenging than Hadrians Wall or West Highland Way or maybe my memory is short !!!!
Cathy added on 2miles with a detour to a disused quarry ,it was well worth it,we met a young woman who had wild camped there . Later on had a chat to a guy walking the opposite way(thankfully)he gave us details about his waist size, his age,it was time to move on. Strange !
The last few miles today seemed endless but neither of us give up. All worth it .The wild mustard has taken over the cliffs.I thought it was rapeseed plants ,so I was glad it was a wild flower .

  • Day 5 Worth Matravers to Swanage

    15. maj, England ⋅ ⛅ 12 °C

Walked 8 miles ,a few hills but not so many ,the coastline around here is peppered with caves. Watched some groups in gear preparing for cave training at Dancing Ledge.
Enjoyed Durlston Nature Reserve and Castle, had lunch at the castle looking out to sea .beautiful area.
Last day tomorrow, staying in an apartment in Swanage all very smart .
We realised today we had walked 13 miles every day for the previous 4 days ,all challenging and hilly....no wonder we are a bit weary .

  • Day 6 Swanage to Studland

    17. maj, England ⋅ ☁️ 13 °C

Stayed in a nice apartment overnight . The wonderful Chauffeur Jon arrived at 9am ,having stayed in Boscombe overnight. He collected our luggage and went for breakfast in Studland bay.
We set off to complete our trail 👣. The climb up to Old Harry Rocks did not disappoint and left me staring in wonder at the expanse across the sea looking out to the Isle of Wight. The weather held.
We met Jon at The Pig Hotel for a coffee and then a pizza cooked in the garden as we sat and looked at the sea .A perfect end to a very challenging walk, achieved with Cathy by my side.I felt the prayers of friends and family for our safe return...no accidents 🥰
