TravelerOMG. I'm just seeing this today. I forgot to check in with Find Penguins. What a bummer to have your flight cancelled. I guess you are on the roller coaster ride of travel. Some ups and then some downs. What was the airline? But now that you are in Lima it looks like a fantastic place. I love seeing all the place you visit and food you eat and your current hotel looks gorgeous! Your knowledge of life is greatly expanding. I'm sure being able to speak Spanish, Nina, is a huge advantage.
TravelerThe airline is Latam, one of the major airlines that flies to South America. Yes, I think it has helped add context that I speak Spanish, and when I don’t know how to say something I’m able to easily use my translation app and read it out loud, since I learned about the phonetics and pronunciation rules in college. I have pretty much been able to understand others speaking to us in Spanish, one time I didn’t and had the speaker speak Spanish into my phone and it translated to English. Definitely an adventure to have our flight cancelled but it’s just a blip now as the rest of our time has been wonderful!
