Ramayana Ballet at Prambanan

Some explanation from the students...

Year 9 - Ramayana ballet. Love story between Ramayana and Sita, same as Romeo and Juliet. Competition for Sita, Rama wins. Finally they got married but the very bad king Ranwana wanted to take Sita away from Rama. Rama friends help get Sita from Ranwana. The monkey kingdom and humans help each other. Sita is very beautiful.

Year 10s - Our favourite part was when Hanuman threw the fire and burnt down the palace. We found that the ‘good’ characters were more gentle and slow with their movements while the ‘bad’ characters were aggressive and moved very fast. The Gamelan brought the performance to life!Read more
