VALBÖNE -> THETH HIKE (arrival day)

We started our morning at 5:30am getting up and meeting Angus and our driver outside our hostel, we were then driven 2hrs away to the river, where we were smuggled on like sardines onto this small boat in torrential rain being protected by some sheets of plastic. After a gruelling 2.5hr boat ride we arrived on land and had another 1 hr bus to our guesthouse in VALBONE. Once off the bus we soon realised we had to cross a massive river that had recently formed from the torrential rain. It was cold, everything was soaking wet but we finally made it to our guest house. A beautiful cosy cottage where everything they make and eat is from the land they live on. We napped for a couple hours, then did some crosswords and then had the most glorious dinner. We drank homemade wine and raki and played multiple hours of cambio with a new friend we had made who was also staying at the guest house named kate. We finally went to bed after spending the evening talking and sharing story’s about our adventures, all super keen for tomorrows big hike.Leia mais
