La Rochelle

Apparently the place where the Germans hid their U Boats during WWII. Unfortunately it is a naval base and the public are not allowed there.

One German officer built a bunker close by and that’s what we got to tour through today. Very educational. ❤️

There are murals painted all over the ceilings and some walls, by two German ladies. Hope you can make them out in the photographs.

We have spent a lovely day here walking through La Rochelle, which is a lovely sea side town. Very touristy and thank goodness it’s not peak season yet.

Kate and I prefer the countryside to this although this is quite pretty and worth a visit.Læs mere
