First Trip of The Year!

First trip of the year and its a big on!
My friends Dave and Berry have very kindly invited me to have a day out with them to the Netherlands, which is on my country bucket list.
I haven't been on the boat in years so I'm excited to take in the sea!
The boat is at 6:55am so the guys picked me up at 5am
We waited at the entrance of the boat for about an hour and watched the sunrise.
We managed to get a front row table on the boat,
The sea was so calm and nice and the sun is shining away at us. It took us about an hour and a half to get to France and another hour and a half to get to Sluis.
We're going to a lovely little town called Sluis.
Excited to take in the sights and test out my Dutch!

Once we got off the port in Calais, it is a beautiful sunny day, watching the fields go by on the way to the Netherlands.Read more

After driving through France and Belgium, we finally made it to the Netherlands!
We did a bit of food shopping in the local supermarket in Oostburg.
I got some Stoopwaffels.
As we were on our way to Sluis Town it started to rain but it only lasted a minute.Read more

Of course the second we finish having lunch it starts chucking it down with rain.
We walked around the town for a little bit, I took a picture and a poloroid picture of the windmill.
I got some tiny clogs for my travel shelf.
We went to another supermarket then we had to figure out what to do next because we finished doing what we planned to do.Read more

We had some time to spare so we went to another supermarket, that's 4 today.
We hoped to get an early boat back but we ended up waiting an hour and 45 minutes for our normal one, only for it to be delayed by 10 minutes.
We finally left the dock at 9:05 (France time)
The sea calm as well which was good.
Boring but nice end to a lovely day.Read more
