Travelerja schon, aber als wir uns, zum Aufladen unserer Handys einklinkten, hatten wir kein Wasser mehr da die Pumpe keinen Strom mehr hatte 🤨🤔. Aber ja, zum Glück war der Kasten offen damit wir es auch selber wieder flicken konten 🤗

Next 16 km on the National Road

Nobody could actually tell us if this allowed, forbidden or accepted 🤔

The sign, going on to the National Road to Switzerland for a road were you are not allowed to drive with the bicycle on. But then again, there were no signs indicating the cycling in that road is not allowed 🤔

So we went on and covered the distance to Colchester in no time 😁 and getting into Colchester it was not clear what kind of road we were on since there were road crossings and turnoff's without actually leaving the National Road 🤔🤨Read more

Cycling up the Zuurbergpas it really started to rain, so we went for a a bit of a shelter under roof of the Lodge.

Highlights during the day

Today, some distance shall be covered so we get closer to Lesotho. The thing on such days is that you look for some 'highlights' along the way that you can look forward to while cycling.

The Highlight for that day was the Town Cookhouse we have identified on the map, located just around 26 km after the start in Middletown.

So we' were looking forward for the sure nice ☕ and 🥧 we would get there. So were quite surprised as we cam along an other nice place just about 10 km before Cookhouse. Our first Highlight!! ... we sure stoped but did not had a ☕, Cookhouse was not fare a way 🙃

Arriving in Cookhouse, we looked for a nice place to get a ☕ but did not find anything else as the Petrolstation, so we grabbed there some ☕.

Somehow we regretted that we did no had the ☕ at the previous place. Not that the ☕ in Cookhouse was not good, but the setting was 'special' and especially the odore from the nearby channel was 🤢😞Read more

Empty Road's & difficult to find a place

Reaching Credock, the street's were empty. Okay, it is Christmas Day and that might be the reason for the empty street's but somehow it felt weird.

On the way to the plans Campsite, which is located a bit outside of the town, we passed the tennis court / City Park and there we saw all the persons missing on the streets, there were there doing BBQ or celebrating Christmas Day by other means. And then, at supposed campsite even more people were celebrating Christmas Day, but there was no place for us to camp since the actual Campsite was not existing anymore. So we did find the 'missing' people but we had no place for the night.

So, we cycled back to town and checked at different Hotels and B&B's but none of them had free places or ware just closed on today's Christmas Day. Finally, someone point us to that guest house and the lady did have, luckily, free places.
