Back Roads

In the last few days of driving the back roads of Saskatchewan, we’ve crossed over more cattle guards than met other vehicles. Small towns post billboard-size signs marking their native sons who made it to the NHL. Today it was Val Marie’s turn to celebrate Bryan Trottier, winner of 7 Stanley Cup rings).

So far, the locals are far friendlier than the tourists.

Todays quirks included the forlorn carcass of a grand old car abandoned in the corner of a pasture, and cowboy boots on the tops of fence posts.Læs mere
