Camino

So…. Interesting lesson at lunch on my Camino. Came up to a little cafe for travelers. Walked in and was met by a dear older cafe owner who asked what I wanted for lunch. I saw no menu, so said “can I have a tuna sandwich and a glass of sparkling water.” She said “yes, than asked me if I wanted baguette or sandwich bread”. I said baguette. Few minutes later the same lady brought me a ham and cheese on baguette. I said “oh, I ordered tuna.” She matter of factly said “ we only have tuna salad. Not tuna baguettes. Only ham and cheese baguettes”. To which I said “ok, I’ll have the ham and cheese”. She then said “did you see tuna sandwich on the menu? No, as we don’t have it. As a pilgrim, I see you have already learned the most important lesson. Be happy with what you have and what the Camino has”. How true. I have enough; I am blessed. And the ham and cheese hit the spot.
