The Acropolis

Very quick turnaround once we left the airport. Some of us hadn't eaten since early morning so a spot of late lunch then an uphill sprint to the Acropolis (past some lovely shopping! 🤣)

I got taken out on one of the hills. It was very steep and narrow as soon as you turned the corner the climb was horrendous. One of the regular bikes tacked right in front of me and I ended up head down in a storm drain on my back like a stranded turtle. I’m sure it was a sight to behold. Just a cut elbow and knee could have been so much worse. I think they should have sent the e-bikes up first. I hope a lesson learned! [Vicky Haworth]
Day 1 Athens to Poros
