Vassaliki on Lefkada 'island'

Lefkada is the southernmost island in the Ionian group. It's connected to the mainland by a land bridge, hence 'island'.
It's quite a large mountainous island with spectacular views of sheer cliffs, small coves and beautiful turquoise water.
We stayed in a small friendly village called Vassaliki. It's the windsurfing capital of Greece (not that we did any windsurfing). We enjoyed the waterfront dining/ cafe scene which lined the port and which was just a convenient flight of stairs from where we were staying.Read more
