Pylos

After the trauma of Kalamata, Pylos was a pleasant respite. Situated on the Bay of Navarino, it was the site of a decisive battle for Greece's independence from the Ottoman Empire. British, French and Russian navies wiped out the Ottoman fleet and led to peace talks between the 2 enemies.
Not far from Pylos is the wonderful Methoni castle which was developed over the centries by the Venetion and Ottoman empires because of its strategic position.Leia mais
