    Mycenae day trip

    A bronze age (1600 - 1100BC) civilization, little is known about the Mycenaeans although it is thought that they laid seige to Troy becoming the undisputed rulers of the Aegean at that time.
    Mycenae was a fortress city overlooking a vast valley all the way to the sea.
    One of the features of these ruins includes the Lion gate which is intact and hasn't been reconstructed.
    The other star of the show is the Treasury of Arteus; a massive beehive shaped chamber where the kings were buried along with all their treasures.
