on our second day we start early again at 1-2-3,
afterwards we hike on to phra nang beach (beautiful, but rather crowded - compared to the rest of the area)
at the end of the beach we take a short stroll through the jungle to reach another wall to climb -
but, regretfully, without the guidebook at hand i can't seem to remember it's name - shame on me!
since our utter lack of training has our fingers and muscles hurting by early afternoon, we spend the rest of the day swimming and relaxing....Read more

first steps!

we get up early (to avoid the "climbing jams" happening due to the various climbing schools around the peninsula) and throughout the day we visit 3 spots:

the 1-2-3-wall
the daimond cave wall
the eagle wall

at the last one i attempt a nerly 30m-pitch after an intense day and fail about 3m from the top -

moving to tonsai

after another hotel-breakfast (this time with eggs!) we take a taxi to ao nang beach, where we embark in a boat to tonsai - this time taking the direct trip to avoid having to carry our luggage over the hill through the jungle...

we move into our bungalow (jungle hut or paasook) and spend a rather lazy first day settling in, reading in our hammocks and taking a stroll around, gaining first glimpses if the walls and routes we plan to climb in the next several days.Read more

searching for a bungalow

we take a longtailboat to railay beach - since this strip of land is surounded by hifh mountains and not you can't reach it over land...

here we soend a day exploring the area and looking for a bungalow to inhabit for the following days...

dinner with friends

together with chris, we visit the ruen mallika - royal thai cuisine.

here we meet up with some of his friends:
constantin & waew, dominik & bong, mike & yassemine, and stefan (i'm incredibly embarresed i forgott his girlfriends name :/ )
