Gibbon Fall and artist paint pots

The next step was to Gibbon Falls. This was a nice waterfall with a 84 foot drop. The water, kinda just cascaded down the slope of the Caldera. We walked along the edge of the overlook, and when we weren’t looking at the waterfall, we were looking across the valley at the mass amount of Lodgepole pine trees. It was like a sea of green. I thought The great Smoky Mountains had a lot of pine trees, but I think there might be more here.

Next, we headed over to the artist paint pots to walk around the trail there. This trail also had a nice overlook where you could get up high and view the paint pots down below. There were several geysers we really liked here. One had bubbling that almost looked like wet clay or a thick stew. It was so thick. Pieces of it even shot up onto the boardwalk.
