Drive to Mammoth

Today when we woke up, there was a dusting of snow outside. We headed out anyway, the weather wasn’t going to be bad in the morning, but they were expecting thunderstorms in the afternoon.

You know it’s gonna be a great adventure day when there’s lots to talk about before we even get there.

We’re headed over to Mammoth, Hot Springs and the drive over was so pretty seeing the snow on the pine trees. We also saw some bison along the way. It’s kind of neat to see where they walked because it leaves a little line in the snow.

On the drive over we ran into a bear jam. This is when everybody stops in the middle of the road because there’s a bear. We found a place to pull off so we could get out and check him out.

He was just a black bear and he looked pretty big until you see him next to the bison. It just amazes me that the bison would stand there and eat his grass and the bear would stand there and eat his grass and they’re literally 20 or 30 feet away from each other. It just blew my mind.Read more
