• Hike Sacred Rim Trail

Today we went on a hike on the sacred rim trail. To get to the trailhead, we had to drive up to the top of the mountain to the high elevation of 9600 feet. From there, we hiked up just a little bit higher to a awesome lookout. Along the way we passed a little stream, but we didn’t stay hiking along the stream for very long. It was just a quick stream crossing. We saw lots of wildflowers.. Surprisingly we did not see any wildlife at all on the hike.

Once we got to the lookout, we had a panoramic view of the valley down below. There were several lakes at the bottom of the valley, and we could hear this huge waterfall gushing down below. It’s too bad there wasn’t a hike out to the waterfall because I bet that would’ve been amazing.

We also passed a sign that said no hang gliding on the hiking trail. We both thought that was kind of odd because we were in the middle of the forest who would be hanging gliding there. But once we got to the lookout, we knew why it would be the perfect jumping off point.
