First proper day driving south. We had lunch on the square in a village called Mortagne-au-Perche. The heavens opened and we had to go inside for dessert and coffee.

Arrived Amboise early in the evening after driving through rural France. Couldn’t find any French onion soup for dad so had a bistro meal at the foot of chateau walls.

Quick walk on to the bridge to look at the Chateau lit up with blue go faster lights. Mum and Dad’s hotel room was above the cafe so lots of chatter til late. Couldn’t easily turn the van round so drove a fair way along the river to find a quiet car park to stay in.Read more
