Rome - Trastevere etc.

A gentle walk this morning, we said!! We started in the Jewish ghetto for breakfast with delicious scrambled eggs and coffee. Then we decided to explore some more. We started at Campo de Fiori at the market then wandered over the Tiber to Trastevere. We caught the end of mass at Basilica de Santa Maria. A beautiful church and heavily gilded ceiling. Then a stop for coffee and Aperol Spritz in the sunshine.
Winding our way back over the Tiber we passed the Pantheon and looked for a quiet place for lunch just up from there. Taverna Rotondo, what a find! Both the ravioli and the fettuccine bolognaise were fab and tiramisu the best yet. Then it was back to Piazza Argentina to pick up the luggage. This was actually the place where Julius Caesar was killed! That’s it, a wonderful short break in one of Europe’s finest capitals, grazie Roma ❤️Baca selengkapnya
