• Marjan Park - the lungs of Split.

    Sunday. We woke to rain and grey skies again. So far it has drizzled all day. We like to attend a local church when we are able. We planned to do so here in Split but there is a special conference in Zagreb this weekend so nothing here. We spent the morning walking admiring the beauty of Split. Rather than go back into the Diocletian's Palace area we instead walked for hours through and around Marjan Park. It’s located on the west side of the city, known as Marjan peninsula. It was so peaceful, hardly anyone there, whereas the city was busy. The views were beautiful. It's a large park about 3.5 km long and 1.5 km wide. After a very long walk we had a late lunch back in the old town.Read more
