Day 56 - Barcelona Bound!!

My second last destination - Barcelona!!
When I first started planning my EMO - I always wanted to limit myself to only visiting a few major cities. Barcelona and Paris. Barcelona for its architecture and art - Paris, well because it’s Paris - my number one city in the world that I’ve always wanted to visit. So fitting that I end my odyssey with these two beauties!! So I’ll definitely be on a high for the next week.
As it turns out today is Spain’s National Day - so many places are closed. I think this will be good for me navigating the Barcelona metro system once arriving from Figueres. I’m currently at the station in Figueres - I’ve got my ticket - it’s quiet - the sun’s out and I’m feeling bloody great. I’ve again been so lucky in my travels. Things have just worked out almost always in a positive way. And I reckon that’s because when I’ve been in a bit of strife, usually my own making, I’ve turned to people for help. And help I’ve received in so many ways. So many people - when asked have been so kind and warm and supportive. Yesterday was another example. I met a young man on my bus to Cadaques - he was visiting from Barcelona. Alex spoke good English so we chatted all the way to Cadaques. Me being me also asked for some suggestions and things to see and do in Barcelona - so he made me a list. He checked where I was staying and confirmed that it was an excellent central location - walking distance from all the major attractions. How good is that!!
So today my objective is getting to my Barcelona digs. Should be a piece of cake haha??!!! What could possibly go wrong??Read more
