Vienna is for sure the most cake-like city we've ever seen! Cake architecture next to cakes all over the Wiener coffee houses we did today (only 4 ;-))

Balaton

After a visit to an impressive Jugendstil church high on the hills above Vienna - which was a master piece of Otto Wagner, we spent the rest of the day in Hungary and at the biggest steppe lakes in Europe: the Neusiedler and Balaton lakes. Again failing with keeping it healthy today, we stocked some Hungarian wine for later too 😜Read more

Making the best of a pooring day

The good things in Istria are mainly impressively old UNESCO world heritage churches, having cocktails with a view on the seagulls floating on the sea, staying for the night in the middle of olive trees at the seaside watching sunset, and not to forget simple but lovely Slavic food.Read more

Mother Nature always impresses

During the last day of our trip, mother nature impressed us another time. First, we visited again some Unesco world Heritage being the Škocjan caves, famous for being the biggest Cave Canyon in Europe. And of course, our last sunset taken from our room at our last stop in Muggia was a nice cherry on the cake!Read more

Breakfast on the way home

In Villach, a place where I was on holiday when I still was a kid (in 1990) we stopped to have breakfast on our way home. Since we left super early (at 7 AM in the morning) we were already in Austria when in need for a Brekkie!

We concluded to have had a marvellous holiday, driving back with the car full of gastronomic tastebud delights!Read more
