    Sunshine!
    A much easier walk than yesterday .
    Much of it was on the South Tyne Trail.
    15.5 miles done.
    We finished at the Milecastle Inn , overlooking Hadrian’s Wall.

    Today we had Mark Anthony’s hanging walls ( strange field terracing), more marauding cows, a ford to walk through and very little shelter for lunch.
    Finished at South Tyneside Railway. 18 miles.

    We’ll weather was good for us. We joined in coronation celebrations at our morning break with Mary’s bit flag. Another mix of moor and farmland.
    The pub won out even though there was a Temperance Hall!😂
    We finished our 18 miles in Kirby Stephen.

    We’re over half way.😂

    A walk up the River Ribble to Horton-in-Ribblesdale, then over the hill close to Ribblehead and then down passed Denthead viaduct.
    The rain caught us right at the end of the day but that was more than made up for with the stunning view across the dale from my bedroom window.Læs mere

    Very friendly donkeys to a lovely cafe in Gisburn for scrambled eggs. A super walk on the Ribble Way to Settle and a chance to see the converted water tower that appeared on Grand Designs

    Glorious weather, a great mix of scenery, morning break with my dad and an afternoon walk on the canal with Mary’s mum. 13.6 miles.
    Later on we popped up Pendle Hill. You could see across to the coast near Blackpool.
    Over 500 miles done.🥳

    Another good day to walk. Dry and a bit of sunshine. We had moors and canals and a long climb up out of Todmorden to our pick up point. (Thanks Janet ) x

    A very misty start but it soon cleared.
    We walked by a river (Tame), a canal ( Huddersfield Narrow Canal) and an old railway line ( The Donkey line).
    We finished in Denshaw. 18 miles today .

    We dodged the bad weather yet again, with only a brief shower for the last 30min .
    We got some lovely views following the Pennine Bridle Path and were well backed up by Ollie for our break and lunch stops.
    Our grand rolls is now 453.7 miles. 18 miles done today.

    Lovely walking.
    We went through the picture postcard village of Tissington, along an abandoned railway (now part of the Pennine Bridle Way) and we’re once more picked up by Ollie.

    Today was cloudy till an hour after we finished.
    We walked through a shooting range(scary ), passed the JCB Academy where King Charles was visiting and changed counties once again. (Now in Derbyshire).
    We also got ice cream from the very cute honesty shop. And of course ended the dad with a cider.

    A chilly start along the canal and then over Cannock Chase. Lack of signs and obstructive cows made the afternoon more of a challenge. 17 miles today.

    From an amazing egg and mushroom bap, to blocked paths, scary bridges and castles, it’s been another day of mixed experiences. A change of county and Country.🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

    After a bit of drizzle following the estuary from Bridgwater we followed dykes to Burnham on Sea, passing decaying boats, huge hedges and giant sluice gates.
    We then walked along the coast with a small detour inland to Weston-super -Mare. Great day with 20 miles knocked off.Læs mere
