Cycling to Alula

It's time to return to neom. But first we relax by the pool and get ready for our next cycle trip. We ll take a different route. Less travelled but also the road conditions are worse. We start out at 12.30 n are excited to be back on the saddle. We pass a group of camels before leaving the main road. The road conditions are bad n I am worried about a flat tyre. And then it happens. 1 hour in we are stranded in the middle of nowhere. I have a spare tube n pump but realise I miss one important tool. I flag a car n a guy stops opening a box with tons of tools but no imbus key. He drives off n we start walking. This guy more a boy comes back with his uncle tagging along. Another box full of tools but not the one we need. 5 min later the uncles brother comes by and finally he has what I need. We all help together to fix one tyre. Saudi hospitality is just another level. In the meantime our friends dorit and bukhara appear on the scene as its already 3pm. We pack the bicycles into the car n off we go to duba and our favourite fish rest. An unexpected outcome but yet a very fulfilling dayLeer más
