Bagamoyo Young Life Camp

Visited and participated in a Young Life Day Camp in Bagamoyo (which means surrender). We then walked to the Mission Cross which marks the spot where slaves led from the heart of Africa were brought to be out on a boat to Zanzibar to be sold at the slave market. This same spot marks where the first Christian Missionaries came to Africa and where they bought what slaves they could to free them and settle them in the town of Bagamoyo. The Mission Cross is a place of reconciliation for people from different African tribes which as a result of slavery did not interact as a result of the past and the scourge that was slavery.Read more
