Fun fact, when traveling, you have to figure out exchange rates. While taxing through the big city of Buenos Aires from the airport, we were asking our taxi driver how to pay him. He informed us it is much better to exchange the US dollar on the black market instead of the normal exchanges.
Of course it sounds a little fishy and we were cautious, but it is almost double the exchange rate so we told him to take us to his exchange guy. He takes us through a back alley and pulls over on the side of the road and then asks us to give him our US cash so he can get out of the car go across the street to a little building And get the exchange done. We were on high alert and asked if we could go with him and he said no but we were sitting in his car so he wasn’t gonna go anywhere without us. After five minutes of him being away, he returned with a whole lot of Argentinian pesos.
Turned out to be a great guy and a good taxi driver as he even went back to the airport to pick up Austin an hour later at 1 AM
