Landed!

After a full day of work and travel, I finally made it to New Mexico.

Started off my first morning in Las Cruces with a 6 am run! Watching the sun rise over the mountains is always my favorite.
City of Rocks

Took a break from working to visit the City of Rocks! One of my favorite places to visit as a kid. We had a run in with killer bees that brought our visit abruptly to an end.
Mini Family Reunion

We had family come visit us from Phoenix yesterday. It was a day full of food and lots of laughs! We only get together about once every 10 years.
NM Check In

Soaking up my last few days with my Omi. Right before this picture she said “throw me your leg!” Love her and her silliness.
Pecans, pecans, and more pecans

Spending my last few night cracking nuts and practicing my German. One bowl of pecans takes two hours!
ELP to PDX

Headed to the airport at 3 this morning for my early flight. Had a pit stop at LAX for my connecting flight. It was so foggy when we got in you could barely see across the runway.
Portland Day 1

Portland Japanese Garden

Went to the famous historic Japanese garden this afternoon. Portland has a sister city in Japan and this garden is supposed to symbolize their friendship.
Cannon Beach

Stop 1: Mt. Saint Hellen

Spending my day driving up to Seattle from Portland. My first quick pit stop was Mt Saint Helen which is actually a volcano. If you look closely you can see it in the distance.
Stop 2: Mt. Rainer National Park

This stop took my breath away. I’m going to let the pictures do the talking.
Sleeping in Seattle

Explored downtown Seattle this morning. Grabbed a coffee at the original Starbucks, snagged a famous pierogi from a mom and pop shop, and explored all the shops and stands around the market. At theEn savoir plus
Space Needle and Seattle Skyline

Took a ride on the Farris wheel and saw Seattle from the sky. I also got a glimpse of the space Needle on my way to Chihuly gardens.
Chihuly Garden and Glass

Next stop was Chihuly Gardens. Dave Chihuly was a famous glass artist who has made some incredible work. His museum blew me away.
